Basic requirements for OMMA licensing

There are three main requirements set forth by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority that you must meet in order to submit a successful application:

  1. All applicants must be 25 years old.

  2. Applicants must provide a background check that shows no non-violent felonies within two years proceeding the application, or violent felonies within five years proceeding the application.

  3. 75% of commercial cannabis business license ownership interests must belong to Oklahoma residents—residency must be proven by qualifying documents to show at least two consecutive years residency proceeding the application or five consecutive years residency within the past 25 years.

These requirements apply whether you are applying for a new license or acquiring an active license. Acquiring a license as an LLC or entity does not help you skirt the residency requirements. Growers and dispensaries must also ensure the location they are attempting to put a license on is at least 1,000 feet away from the nearest property line of a public or private school.

If you meet the basic requirements for OMMA licensing our office can help you secure the necessary documents for your application and ensure it is successful. OMMA’s licensing fee for new applications is $2,558.30—for transfers and license updates the fee is $500. Attorneys fees for licensing vary upon your location.
